Breast reduction

In the event of functional complaints and provided that the required criteria are met, the health insurance fund can approve the reimbursement of a breast reduction. The technique differs depending on the size of the breasts, the age of the patient and the quality of the skin. The scars can be 'anchor-shaped’ (encircling the areola, extending vertically from the areola to the fold of the breast and horizontally in the fold of the breast itself) , 'vertical' (encircling the areola and extending vertically from the areola to the fold) , or 'peri-areolar' (just encircling the areola).
