This procedure does not differ much from that used for a breast reduction. Instead of removing tissue, the breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve breast firmness. The scars can be 'anchor-shaped’ (encircling the areola, extending vertically from the areola to the fold of the breast and horizontally in the fold of the breast itself) , 'vertical' (encircling the areola and extending vertically from the areola to the fold) , or 'peri-areolar' (just encircling the areola) . A breast lift can often be performed using implants as well .
