Pedicled TRAM flap

If the risk of complications is too high when a reconstruction is performed using the free perforator flap (for instance, when the patient is a heavy smoker), tissue on the abdomen can also be transferred by cutting through one of the abdominal muscles near the pubic bone and rotating it to the chest to create a new breast (pedicled Transverse Rectus Abdominis Muscle flap).
