Pedicled LD flap

If not enough tissue available at the site of the abdomen and buttock, an elliptical flap of fat and skin lying over the large, flat muscles of the back (Latissimus Dorsi muscle) can be rotated to the chest to reconstruct the breast. This volume often proves to be insufficient and, therefore, the procedure is sometimes carried out in conjunction with an implant.
